Our Mission:
To support our parishioners who have experienced the death of a loved one or who are facing end-of-life decisions, with comfort, hope and the reassurance that no one has to grieve or make these difficult decisions alone.
How Do We Fulfill This Mission – How Can You Share in This Ministry:
Pre-Need Planning: Offer background to help explain what options are available to individuals and families as they confront the reality of death.
First 48-Hour Care: Initiating contact between the parish and the family at the time of death. A parish staff member will always be available to assist with planning the funeral liturgy and to offer guidance regarding other arrangements.
Funeral Ushers : Serve as a representative of the larger parish family and offer assistance to grieving family members and visitors during the Mass of Christian Burial or the memorial service.
Repast Planning: Assist in preparing and serving the Repast immediately after the conclusion of the funeral mass/memorial service or burial at the cemetery.
Other Opportunities: Assist grieving families in their journey through the Card and Care Note ministry, Open or Closed Support Groups, take part in the All Souls Day commemoration in early November and create memorial crafts.
